Whats New?

With the cooler weather approaching, its a good time to remind you to get your chimney cleaned using the fire. Also check those smoke alarms if you did not do so when the clocks went back. (07/04/10)

The RESTRICTED FIRE SEASON has ended and now an OPEN FIRE SEASON is in place for the area administered by the Waimakariri District Council. Please visit the Council Website for more details on what this means. (04/04/10)

During 2009, we attended 268 call outs. Down from 317 in 2008, which is quite a big drop. The drop can be explained by greener summers and the absense of the big storms we had in previous years, and also perhaps that the fire safety message is getting through and people are being more careful. Fingers crossed this trend continues (04/01/10)
